Guwahati, Jul 16 (PTI) - Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, are set to visit Assam on Wednesday, where they will engage with party members in the state. This marks their first visit since Gaurav Gogoi assumed the role of state president, ahead of the assembly elections next year.
Kharge and Gandhi are expected to participate in two meetings during their day-long visit, including one session at Chaygaon, situated approximately 40 km from Guwahati. Gaurav Gogoi mentioned on Tuesday that during these meetings, district, block, and mandal presidents will have the opportunity to voice their opinions to the leadership.
"The visit underscores the Congress party's dedication to justice, harmony, and inclusive progress for all," Gogoi noted in a post on X.
