On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, commemorating India's victory in the 1999 Kargil war, rich tributes were paid to soldiers who died defending the country.
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Manoj Pande, and Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari were seen laying wreaths at the war memorial in Drass, Ladakh.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh laid a wreath at the memorial as well.
Three Cheetal helicopters conducted a flypast and showered flower petals.
