New Delhi, Jul 3 (PTI) – In a significant development, the Delhi Police apprehended four juveniles in connection with a murder-cum-robbery case, alongside another robbery incident, in the outer north Delhi region of Bawana, as reported by an official on Thursday.
The series of events unfurled with a PCR call received on June 26, indicating the presence of an unidentified man found injured and unconscious within the confines of DSIIDC Park, C-Block, in Bawana Industrial Area, according to police reports.
"The victim, estimated to be aged between 30 to 35 years, was hurriedly transported to Maharishi Valmiki Hospital. However, he was declared brought dead upon arrival. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged, and a detailed investigation commenced. The deceased was later identified as Avdhesh Yadav, hailing from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh, by his brother," narrated a police official.
Despite extensive efforts, including the review of over 1,000 CCTV cameras within nearby locales, no immediate leads emerged, putting the investigators in a challenging spot, police conveyed.
Field inquiries eventually illuminated suspicious activities by certain individuals in the vicinity of the incident. Investigative teams narrowed their focus onto four juveniles, who were swiftly apprehended, they explained.
"During the interrogation, one of the juveniles confessed to the crime. They revealed that the stabbing occurred amidst their endeavor to rob the victim. Furthermore, the victim's mobile phone, purse, and personal documents were recovered from their possession," disclosed the police officer, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing.
