Jharkhand: Congress MLA accuses Assam CM of toppling Soren government

A Congress MLA from Jharkhand has alleged that his three fellow legislators, who were caught in West Bengal with cash, had asked him to meet Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati for negotiation to topple the JMM-Congress government in the state.

Congress' Bermo MLA Kumar Jaimangal has lodged a complaint regarding the alleged offer.

He alleged that Congress MLAs Naman Vixal Kongadi and Rajesh Kachhap called him to Kolkata and offered him money, promising Rs 10 crore per MLA.

Sarma in response said he continues to be in contact with Congress leaders because of his long association with the party, downplaying the allegations of his involvement in a ploy to topple the JMM-led Jharkhand government.
