Jammu and Kashmir's ex-chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday claimed that the polling agents and workers from her PDP party were detained by the police just before voting.

In her official statement, she claimed that it was being done at the behest of the LG office.

She has urged the timely intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

"None of those who were detained have any FIR filed against them. All this is being done to rig the elections. Police are acting at the behest of the LG office, what can they do? They are just puppets. All this is being done to prevent Kashmiris from voting. They know that if the people of south Kashmiris, I will win and go to the parliament. And they are not ready to see me in the parliament."
