Jammu and Kashmir: Mysterious blast near I-Day celebration venue in Poonch

A mysterious blast was reported from Nar Balakote area in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Monday where Independence Day celebrations were scheduled to take place.

A parked vehicle suffered damage in the blast but no casualties have been reported so far, said officials.

The blast took place at a distance from the Panchayat Ghar where the local sarpanch or village head was hoisting the tricolour.

A probe into the incident has been launched, as per a police officer who spoke to Global News Service. “It was a mysterious blast. Nature and other technical details are been investigated.”
