New Delhi, Sep 10 (PTI): In a significant joint operation, the Delhi Police's Special Cell, Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and Ranchi police successfully apprehended two suspected ISIS operatives, an official disclosed on Wednesday.

The primary suspect, identified as Ashar Danish from Bokaro, was arrested in Ranchi. He was wanted in connection with a case registered by the Delhi Police Special Cell concerning an ISIS-linked module.

Another suspect, Aftab, was detained in Delhi during a coordinated action executed simultaneously by the involved teams, according to police sources. Preliminary investigations indicate that both individuals were in contact with other members of an ISIS-inspired network, actively participating in activities aimed at advancing the terror outfit's agenda in India, as per a source involved in the operation.

Security agencies had been monitoring Danish for several months.
