Indian woman rescued from Bahrain, brought back after being duped with job offer

An Indian woman who was defrauded and sent to Bahrain, returned to India on 11 April 2023 after being rescued by Mumbai police.

The 23-year-old woman from Goa had been duped by two agents with the promise of a good job in Bahrain.

However, when she reached the middle east country in February, she was asked to work as a domestic help. The woman refused, and her employer registered a false case of theft against her, and took away her mobile phone.

The rescue was carried out by police, Indian embassy officials, and the Gulf-Maharashtra Business Forum.
