The Indian government on 4 April 2023 reacted to China's latest diplomatic provocation over Arunachal Pradesh.

After Beijing claimed to have renamed 11 places in Arunachal, the Indian government said that "attempts to assign invented names will not alter the reality" that the northeast state is an inalienable part of India.

Delhi rejected the move "outright", saying that this was not the first time that Beijing tried such a move.
