India’s prestigious Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has reportedly sacked over 100 faculty and non-teaching staff members, according to a report by The Indian Express on June 30.

55 faculty members and 60 non-teaching staff were dismissed without notice across its four campuses on June 28, the report said.

The dismissed staff were all contractual employees and the reason given for their dismissal was the non-receipt of grants from the Tata Education Trust, which was funding their salaries as per the report.
