Income Tax officials carried out raids at the residence of DMK MP S Jagathrakshakan and about 20 other locations linked to him.
According to PTI, some educational institutes were among the places searched by the probe agency.
Jagathrakshakan is a Lok Sabha MP from the Arakonnam constituency of Tamil Nadu.
The raids comes months after Tamil Nadu minister V Senthil Balaji was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money laundering case.
