Former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao's daughter and BRS MLC Vani Devi while appreciating the BJP-led central government's decision to honour her father with the Bharat Ratna, also criticised the Congress for not recognising his contributions to the country's progress.
Vani Devi said that she was 'excited' about the honour even though it was a little delayed.
She also rued the fact that Congress did not bestow the honour on Narasimha Rao even though he worked for the party throughout his political career.
'It is surprising... PV Narasimha Rao was not from BJP...he worked for one party for 60-70 years. He rendered his services to the nation through that party but his contributions were recognised by another party. It is a great moment. We must really appreciate,' she said.
