Over half a year after a student was found dead at IIT Kharagpur, the Calcutta High Court has ordered that his body be exhumed for another autopsy.
23-year-old Faizan Ahmed was found dead in his hostel room on October 14, 2022. While IIT officials called it a case of suicide, Faizan's family had alleged murder.
The court on April 25, 2023, said that a second post-mortem exam is "vital and necessary for arriving at the truth".
