Explosion at Hyderabad's Sigachi Industries: Death Toll Rises to 44

Hyderabad, Jul 8 (PTI) The death toll from the explosion at Sigachi Industries Ltd’s pharma plant in Sangareddy district has risen to 44 as of Tuesday, according to a senior police official. Eight individuals are still unaccounted for following the incident at the Pashamylaram facility, stated District Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj. Two people who sustained severe burns due to the explosion on June 30 have passed away in the hospital while receiving treatment, increasing the number of fatalities to 44, Pankaj informed PTI. Currently, 14 individuals are being treated at various hospitals, the official noted. At the time of the explosion, more than 140 people were present in the plant, with 61 of them confirmed to be safe, officials previously reported.
