25-year-old B Nagaraju was stabbed to death on a busy road in Hyderabad over his interfaith marriage to Ashrin Sultana.

K Satish, HR manager at a car showroom where B Nagaraju used to work, told Indian Express that Nagaraju recently said he sold his gold chain for Rs 25,000 to take his wife to Charminar for Eid shopping.

Nagaraju's friend Talari Daniah told the Indian Express that Ashrin's brother had sworn revenge and the couple were fearful of him.

Two of the main accused – Ashrin's brother Mubin Ahmed Syed and relative M Masood Ahmed- were arrested.

According to the police, Mubin, a fruit seller, and Masood, a car mechanic, started tracking the couple immediately after they married earlier this year.

They attacked the couple on Wednesday night with an iron rod and then stabbed Nagaraju multiple times.
