Amid a diplomatic standoff with India over the killing of a Khalistani leader, Canada has updated its travel advisory for Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post, news wire ANI said in its fresh advisory Ottawa asked its citizens to avoid all travel to Jammu and Kashmir due to the unpredictable security situation in the region.

The updated guidelines said there is the threat of terrorism militancy, civil unrest and kidnapping.

The advisory however excludes travelling to or within the union territory of Ladakh.
