Guwahati, October 3: A devastating fire broke out at a cloth market in Assam’s Guwahati, resulting in the tragic death of one person and injuries to four others. Officials informed that the incident occurred at a commercial establishment in the Fancy Bazar area of central Guwahati. Surendra Kumar, Director of Fire and Emergency Services, stated, "We received the alert at 4:21 am and promptly dispatched our team to the scene. A total of 16 fire tenders were deployed to manage the situation." He confirmed that the fire has been brought under control, although dealing with it was challenging due to the diverse range of materials present in the cloth market.
