A day after a major fire broke out at a game zone in Rajkot, killing at least 27 people, the police have registered an FIR against six people. Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava said that two of the six booked have been arrested. He added that the death toll may rise to 28 as some remains have also been found apart from the 27 bodies recovered earlier.

"FIR was registered against 6 people under IPC sections 304, 308, 336, 338, 114. Out of which 2 people have been arrested. The crime branch team is working to arrest others... Our effort is to complete the investigation as soon as possible and file a charge sheet in the case," said Bhargava.

"27 DNA samples have been sent. The report will come in 36 to 48 hours. We extracted DNA samples from bone marrow," he added.

Meanwhile, Gujarat High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the incident, calling it a man-made disaster.
