Democratic Progressive Azad Party (PADP) chief Ghulam Nabi Azad has decided not to contest from the Anantnag-Rajouri constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The party has now fielded Mohammad Saleem Parray from the constituency.

This would have been Azad's first poll contest on his own party's ticket, after he parted ways with the Congress.

The announcement comes days after National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah challenged the PADP chairman to contest against him from the Baramullah constituency.
