First woman officer at world's highest battlefield Siachen Glacier: Indian Army lauds Capt Shiva Chauhan

In a historic feat, Captain Shiva Chauhan has become the first woman officer to be operationally deployed at the world's highest battleground - the Siachen glacier.

The Indian Army's XIV Corps, also known as the Fire & Fury Corps, announced Captain Chauhan's achievement on 3 January 2023 with the caption "Breaking the glass ceiling".

The Army said that Captain Chauhan underwent arduous training before deployment at Kumar Post.
