Fire erupts at Mahakumbh Mela, no casualties reported

A fire erupted on Friday at Sector 18, Shankaracharya Marg in the Mahakumbh Mela area of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Multiple fire engines rushed to the site, and rescue efforts are currently in progress.

According to fire officials, as cited by PTI news agency, no casualties have been reported.

 

 

 

Inspector Yogesh Chaturvedi from the Khak Chowk police station stated, "A fire ignited at a camp near Tulsi Chauraha on Old GT Road, but firefighters have largely controlled the blaze." He noted that fire department officials are at the location to manage the situation.

This marks the second fire incident at the Mahakumbh since it commenced on January 13 and is set to continue until February 26. The fire resulted in the destruction of at least 40 huts and six tents, although no major casualties have been reported.
