Names of Air Commodore Sanjay Sharma & Flying Officer Ananya Sharma have been etched onto the pages of Indian Air Force's history as they became the first father-daughter duo to fly in the same flight formation.
"There has not been any previous instance in the IAF where a father and his daughter were part of the same fighter formation for a mission. It was the mission where Air Cmde Sanjay and Fg Offr Ananya were more than just father and daughter. They were comrades, who had full faith in each other as fellow wingmen would," the IAF said in the release.
Ananya and Sanjay Sharma flew the Hawk-132 aircrafts at IAF station Bidar where she is currently undergoing training before she graduates onto superior fighter aircrafts.
