Mainpuri (UP), July 2 (PTI) — In a tragic incident, two men lost their lives and another sustained serious injuries when a speeding pickup vehicle collided with their motorcycle, police officials reported on Wednesday.

The fatal accident took place near Bighrai village, within the limits of Dannahar police station, on Tuesday. Inspector Virendra Pal Singh provided the details, stating that Ravi Katheria (40), a labourer residing in Gulab Bagh, was traveling to Shikohabad on a motorcycle. Accompanying him were his friend Mahendra (45), a barber from the Ram Lila Maidan area, and Raman, from the Mainpuri Kotwali police circle area.

Their two-wheeler was struck by the speeding pickup, leading it to overturn. Ravi and Mahendra were tragically trapped beneath the vehicle and died on the spot. Raman sustained severe injuries and was swiftly transported to a hospital for treatment.

The police have retrieved the bodies for post-mortem examination and have registered a case to initiate an investigation into the incident. Inspector Singh confirmed these details.
