Tragic Gas Cylinder Explosion in Hamirpur Claims Worker’s Life

Hamirpur (HP), Jul 4 (PTI): A tragic incident occurred at the Jal Shakti Department's pump house in Ukhli village when a cooking gas cylinder explosion claimed the life of a migrant worker. The police reported this on Friday.

Six other workers in the vicinity had a fortunate escape, although the blast shook the entire area.

The group, consisting of laborers who arrived in Hamirpur on Thursday evening, was residing in a room at the pump house when the incident took place. They were in the process of preparing food when the gas cylinder exploded.

Unfortunately, one worker from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, lost his life instantly. The authorities have yet to disclose his identity. Meanwhile, his six colleagues managed to escape just in time.

The precise reason behind the explosion remains unknown. Alarmed locals rushed to the site upon hearing the blast, promptly notifying the police.

Officers from the Sadar police station arrived quickly to assess the situation. They have sent the deceased's body for a post-mortem examination and have initiated a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
