Etawah (UP), Nov 12 (PTI) In a tragic incident, a 52-year-old farmer lost his life after a speeding car collided with his motorcycle, police reported on Wednesday. The accident occurred near Nagla Rathore village on Tuesday evening. According to Bhupendra Singh Rathi, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Saifai, the victim has been identified as Vinod Kumar, a resident of Hindpur Nagariya village.

Kumar was returning home on his motorcycle after a day spent selling potatoes in the local market.

Prior to this, he had retrieved the stock of potatoes from a cold storage facility located in Jaswantnagar tehsil area. Tragically, as he made his way back home, his motorcycle was hit from behind by a speeding car, causing him to be thrown onto the road and sustaining severe injuries.

Upon receiving information from passersby about the accident, the police swiftly arrived at the scene and transported him to Saifai Hospital. However, despite their efforts, doctors declared him deceased on arrival.

Police were able to identify the deceased due to a potato withdrawal slip found among his possessions, subsequently informing his family. Following the completion of necessary formalities, the body was sent for postmortem examination.
