Haryana Man Held for Fake ID Attempt at Amarnath Yatra

Srinagar, Jul 1 (PTI) – On Tuesday, police registered a case against a man from Haryana for using a fake identity card to enter the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district.

The suspect is identified as Shivam Mittal, residing in Dwarka Puri, Haryana. A police spokesperson stated, "J&K Police apprehended an individual at Baltal for attempting to pass through security checkpoints with a fraudulent yatra registration card."

The spokesperson further mentioned, "The individual acquired the fake yatra card through deceitful means and tried to mislead security personnel, thereby unlawfully avoiding the required security verification process."

An FIR has been filed, and an investigation is underway.
