East Medinipur raid: Bengal police book NIA officials for molestation, says report

The West Bengal police have booked some National Investigation Agency officials for molestation after a team of the central agency investigating the 2022 blast in East Medinipur was attacked on April 6. 

The police a First Information Report against the NIA officers under sections pertaining to molestation and trespassing. The Indian Express reported that the FIR has been filed based on the complaint of family members of the arrested accused and TMC worker Manabroto Jana. 

The report said the police received a complaint that NIA officials molested women by breaking the doors of their houses late at night. Earlier the NIA had also filed a complaint claiming they were attacked as they went to arrest the accused.
