While addressing parliamentarians at the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) meeting in the national Capital on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged BJP MPs to not address him as 'Modi ji' or 'aadarniya'.

PM Modi said that adding adjectives before or after his name could create a distance between him and the people of the country. He further said that he was an ordinary worker of the party and the masses consider him as a part of their families.

PM Modi further told MPs to think of him as one of them. PM Modi said, "I am a small karyakarta of the party and people think that I am part of their family. Don’t add adjectives like Shri or aadaraniya as people think of me as one of them and as Modi."
