Lucknow, Aug 29 (PTI): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya sharply criticized the Gandhi family recently, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's hard work and dedication hold more weight than their privileged background. Maurya's comments came in response to a viral video showing individuals allegedly making offensive remarks about Modi's mother during Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar.
Sharing his views on platform X, Maurya stated, "Our accomplished Prime Minister Narendra Modi prefers to excel and expand his influence rather than diminish others. This stance appears to unsettle Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra, and Rahul Gandhi."
He further remarked, "This trio, consumed by disdain and conceit, labels Modi with derogatory terms like 'merchant of death,' 'lowly,' and 'vote thief,' but in doing so, they insult the will of the public." As a respected leader from the backward classes and former state BJP president, Maurya highlighted that the Gandhi family fails to recognize that Modi, a leader from India’s significant backward class, has been elected as Prime Minister three times due to his relentless efforts.
Maurya continued, "Unlike Rahul Gandhi, Modi wasn't born into privilege, but his accomplishments surpass the advantages of a silver spoon. This insecurity drives the Gandhi trio to delegate the task of disparaging Modi to a diminutive group of supporters."
The BJP recently accused Rahul Gandhi of instigating the abusive remarks against Modi's mother during the yatra, asserting that the people of Bihar will retaliate against Congress for its "politics of abuses."
The viral video is reportedly from Darbhanga district, where Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, embarked on the yatra to Muzaffarpur on motorcycles.
