A man in Uttar Pradesh's Banda has allegedly pronounced triple talaq on his wife after a dispute over dowry.
According to reports, he was asking for a Scorpio car and the demand was not met.
The victim said that she got married in 2015 to the accused and her family had provided a dowry of Rs 15 lakh at the time of marriage.
She also added that since the wedding, her husband along with her other in-laws had been making further demands for a dowry.
But when the woman's family could not fulfil their demand, the in-laws abused the woman physically and mentally.
The accused also threatened the woman with a second marriage and threw her out of the house in July 2023.
The woman also revealed that the accused recently visited her and forced her to fulfil the demand for a Scorpio car.
When his demand was rejected, he allegedly pronounced triple talaq.
