New Delhi, June 16 (PTI) - A 22-year-old delivery boy has been arrested for allegedly defrauding e-commerce platforms by swapping genuine returned items with old or used products in Delhi's Dwarka area, an official reported on Monday.
The accused, Kishan, was employed with e-commerce platforms where he systematically replaced authentic returns with previous used goods before submitting them back during routine return processes.
The Bindapur Police Station registered an e-FIR following emerging complaints about this fraudulent activity resulting in significant financial losses to the involved companies.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), Ankit Singh, stated, "Acting on the complaint, the team traced and apprehended the accused from the Rajapuri area in Uttam Nagar."
Police recovered 38 fraudulently exchanged packages from Kishan’s possession. These included 22 packets of clothing, three wrist watches, two pairs of slippers, one pair of shoes, and various other items, Singh noted.
Additionally, a tablet and a mobile phone, linked to previously filed FIRs at the Bindapur and Uttam Nagar Police Stations, were recovered, he added.
Kishan has been booked under relevant legal provisions, and further investigation is ongoing.
