New Delhi, July 16 (PTI) - An email bomb threat caused alarm at four private schools in Delhi on Wednesday morning, leading authorities to swiftly evacuate the premises for a comprehensive inspection, according to a Delhi Fire Services official.
This incident marked the third consecutive day on which educational institutions in the national capital were subjected to bomb threats, all of which were hoaxes in the previous two days.
The fire control room received a call at 5:26 am about a bomb threat email directed at St. Thomas School in Dwarka. Similar threats followed, with Vasant Valley School in Vasant Kunj alerted at 6:30 am, the Mother International School in Hauz Khas at 8:12 am, and Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar at 8:11 am, said the fire services officer.
St. Thomas School experienced its second bomb threat in less than 24 hours, bringing the total to nine bomb threat emails received by eight schools across the city.
Staff who were staying overnight at these schools were promptly evacuated as a safety precaution. Teams from the Delhi Police, the bomb disposal squad, the dog squad, and cyber experts were dispatched for an extensive search.
Nothing suspicious has been discovered to date, the officer reported.
