The arrival of cyclone Michaung has heavily affected several parts of Tamil Nadu. An incident has come to light from Chennai's East Coastal Road on Monday where two people died and one was critically injured as a newly constructed wall collapsed.
According to police, there was heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and due to that, a newly constructed wall collapsed in the Kanathur area, East Coastal Road.
Police said that the deceased have been identified as Shek Afraj and MD Tofik from Jharkhand. Police also said that further investigation into the matter is underway.
Moreover, the Chennai Airport said that the Airfield is closed for arrival operation till 11.30 pm on Monday. Chennai Regional Metrology Director, Balachandran talked about cyclone Michaung and said that it lies about 100 km from East-North East of Chennai and moved at a speed of 10km/hr in the last 6 hours.
Other than this, suburban train services in all the Chennai Suburban sections were temporarily suspended on Monday due to heavy rains and waterlogging.
