Cyclone Michaung: 15 people rescued by NDRF amid waterlogging in Chennai

The National Disaster Response Force or NDRF rescued around 15 people amid severe waterlogging in the Tambaram area of Chennai.

Visuals showed rescue teams helping people while navigating the city in boats. Waterlogging was reported in several areas of the city as Cyclone 'Michaung' approaches the Tamil Nadu coast.

The suburban train services in all the Chennai sections have been temporarily suspended. Southern Railway said that the services will remain halted at least up to 8 am.

It added that only Passenger Specials will be operated in these sections until further advice.
