A man in Tamil Nadu's Salem district purchased his bike in coins. A payment of rupees 2.6 lakhs was made in one rupee coins to the retailer.
29-year-old computer operator V Bhoopathi saved for over three years to realise his dream of owning a Bajaj Dominar 400.
Initially reluctant to accept the payment in coins, the showroom manager yielded as he didn't wish to disappoint Bhoopathi. Showroom manager's reluctance stemmed from the fact that banks charge a large commission for counting coins.
It took five showroom workers along with Bhoopathi and his four friends a total of 9 hours to count the money.
The proud man finally walked away with his bike around 9 pm on Saturday.
