SC: Chandigarh mayoral poll officer must be prosecuted, he admitted to interfering

The Supreme Court while hearing the case of vote manipulation during the counting of Chandigarh mayoral polls said that the returning officer has admitted that he interefered and he must be prosecuted. The top court also ruled out the possbility of fresh polls and said that same ballot papers should be counted against. It said that the markings put by returning officer Anil Masih must be disregarded. However, on being informed that the ballot papers had been taken into custody, the court ordered that they be produced in court on February 19.
