Chandigarh mayoral poll: SC says 'poll officer misled us', asks for counting '8 invalid votes'

Hearing the case pertaining to irregularities in Chandigarh mayoral polls, the Supreme Court on 20th February ordered the recounting of votes polled. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud said that the eight votes that were rejected by the returning officer shall be treated as valid and elections results will be declared on the basis of that. The video of the election process was played in the court and the bench demanded to see the ballots that were invalidated.
