A day after late singer Sidhu Moosewala's father claimed that the Punjab government had been harassing him to submit documents related to his newborn son, it has been reported that the Centre had asked the state government to submit a report on the matter.

Moosewala's parents, Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur gave birth to baby boy via IVF on March 17.

In a letter dated March 14, the Union Health Ministry cited that the law allows only women between 21-50 years of age to undergo IVF treatment and sought a report from Punjab govt on Moosewala's 58-year-old mother's pregnancy.

In an Instagram video on March 19, Balkaur Singh requested the district administration to let his wife's treatment be over and then he will appear before them.

"The district is harassing me that I furnish documents about the child. I request the government and the Chief Minister, to let the treatment get over. I will show up whenever I am asked to appear. I assure you that I will show all legal documents," said Mr Singh.
