Guwahati, Sep 5 (PTI) The Cachar district administration in Assam is accelerating efforts to overcome obstacles and fast-track the Bharat Mala Project, an essential national infrastructure initiative. In a strategic meeting led by District Commissioner Mridul Yadav on Thursday evening, a focus was placed on resolving land acquisition issues hindering key infrastructure developments, a press release stated.
The primary focus was on the Silchar-Badarpur-Churaibari Package-1, which faces hurdles such as land clearance in areas like Srikona and issues related to the Defence Estate at Tarapur. To ensure the project's timely progress, it was agreed that both government and private institutions would be relocated as necessary. The discussions also reviewed strategies for the Panchgram and Badarpur bypass projects, encapsulated in Package-2 and Package-3, respectively. An additional 3G report is being prepared to expedite activities in these areas.
Particular attention was given to the Karaikandi area, linked with the Badarpur Bypass under Package-3. Here, efforts are focused on removing existing bottlenecks to allow seamless development, as highlighted in the release. Mridul Yadav assured that the district administration is committed to offering all essential support for completing these critical national undertakings.
The district's strategy involves directly addressing on-ground challenges, enhancing coordination between various departments, and fostering an infrastructure vision aimed at boosting connectivity. This approach is integral to strengthening the socio-economic landscape of the Barak Valley. Key figures attending the meeting included senior district officials, representatives from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), and other significant stakeholders.
