Raipur, Jul 1 (PTI) - In a tragic accident on Tuesday morning, three individuals lost their lives while six others sustained injuries after a bus collided with a truck near Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Senior Superintendent of Police Lal Umed Singh informed that the accident took place near Kendri village, under the jurisdiction of Abhanpur police station, approximately 25 km from Raipur. The bus was en route from Jagdalpur in Bastar district to Raipur when it attempted to overtake a truck moving in the same direction, resulting in a collision with the truck's rear end.
The passengers who died on the spot have been identified as Azhar Ali, 30, a resident of Kondgaon, Balram Patel, 46, from Jagdalpur, and Barkha Thakur, 31, from Mahasamund.
Following the accident, emergency services, including an ambulance and a police team, arrived promptly at the scene.
The injured passengers received medical treatment and were subsequently discharged from the hospital. The accident caused a temporary disruption in the flow of traffic on the route.
Authorities have registered a case in connection with the incident.
