Bulandshahr (UP), Oct 7 (PTI): A disturbing incident unfolded in Bulandshahr, where a man had his head and moustache forcibly shaved, allegedly by some local residents, after he was accused of trying to harass a girl, police have reported.

A video capturing this episode has surfaced on social media, drawing widespread attention.

As per the police, this incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Kotwali Dehat police station. The accused is said to be a resident of Khurja Dehat village, who reportedly used to harass a girl from a neighboring village during her commute to tuition classes.

On Monday, when the man allegedly attempted to harass the girl again, local residents intervened, capturing him and shaving his head and moustache. The entire episode was filmed by some individuals, as confirmed by the police.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Kumar Singh stated, "A video circulating on social media shows some people shaving a man's head and moustache, accusing him of harassing a minor girl. The incidents of alleged harassment and subsequent public humiliation are under thorough investigation."

Further action will be determined based on the findings of the investigation, he added.
