BRS Faces Financial Decline: From Rs 683 Cr to Rs 15 Cr

Hyderabad, Oct 28 (PTI) The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), which suffered a major setback in the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, managed to gather a little over Rs 15 crore in donations in the previous financial year.

According to a filing with the Election Commission of India, the party led by former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had secured over Rs 580 crore a year earlier.

In the 2024-25 period, out of the Rs 15.09 crore collected, Rs 15 crore was obtained through electoral trust funds, with the remainder contributed by individuals.

In the financial year 2023-24, the BRS received over Rs 495 crore through Electoral Bonds, while an additional Rs 85 crore came from electoral trust funds.

During 2022-23, the party amassed a substantial total of Rs 683 crore in donations.
