A bleeding, semi-naked 12-year-old girl was repeatedly turned away as she went from door to door asking for help after allegedly being raped near Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain.
CCTV footage shows people staring at the girl without coming forward to help. One man is also seen shooing her away.
NDTV reported that the girl was eventually taken in by a priest after she reached an ashram. The priest suspecting sexual assault took her to a hospital where a medical examination confirmed rape.
The girl was rushed to Indore due to the serious nature of her injuries. NDTV reported that the police personnel stepped up when she required blood. Her condition is now reportedly stable.
Police have filed a case against an unidentified accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act
