The BJP took a dig at Rahul Gandhi after reports that the former Congress president will be contesting from Amethi in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
UP Congress chief Ajay Rai had first said that Rahul Gandhi will 'definitely' contest from Amethi and later changed his statement to say that people of the constituency want Gandhi to fight from there.
Reacting to the comment, BJP leader Amit Malviya said that Rai has spoken a little too much in excitement. He also asked if Rahul Gandhi, who is currently vacationing in Leh, is shocked after hearing Rai's remark.
