Bengaluru, May 27 (PTI) - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday took the significant step of expelling two of its Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in Karnataka, namely S T Somashekar and A Shivaram Hebbar, for a period of six years due to their alleged "anti-party activities." The announcement was made by the party's state president, B Y Vijayendra. The decision was reached after extensive deliberations by the party high command, as Vijayendra informed reporters in Bengaluru.

Somashekar and Hebbar represented the Yashwanthpur and Yellapur assembly constituencies respectively. As of now, the expelled MLAs have not issued any immediate responses regarding their expulsion.
