Following through on an old vow, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday removed his turban as he took a dip in the Saryu river in Ayodhya.

The BJP leader in 2022 had vowed to wear a turban until he removed Bihar CM Nitish Kumar from office. He had made the announcement after Kumar broke ties with BJP and joined hands with RJD and Congress to form the government.

But things have changed now. Kumar is back in the NDA fold and continues to be the CM with BJP's support. Choudhary, who now runs the state with Kumar, fulfilled his promise.
