Bihar Education Department has banned the entry of its Minister Chandra Shekhar's personal secretary Krishna Nand Yadav from entering its office, amid ongoing conflict on ‘negative news’ of the ministry in the press. On July 1 Yadav wrote a letter to Additional Chief Secretary (Education) KK Pathak stating that the minister was angry over departmental communications being leaked to the media. Pathak, a 1990 batch IAS officer is considered close to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Replying to the letter, Director of Administration Subodh Kumar came back heavily on Yadav and said that his letter was useless and he is not entitled to communicate directly with the department. He further said that the department has written a letter to the competent authority for Yadav's removal. Chandra Shekhar, an RJD MLA has maintained a silence on the matter.

RJD MLA Bhai Birendra requested Nitish Kumar to remove Pathak as Education Secretary, claiming that his actions lately were against the interests of the Mahagathbandhan government. While JDU minister Shrawan Kumar showed his support for Pathak.
