Lawyer in Bhubaneswar Dies After Self-Immolation Incident

Bhubaneswar, Aug 29 (PTI) A tragic incident unfolded in the Mancheswar area of Bhubaneswar, where a 46-year-old lawyer allegedly set himself on fire, leading to his death, according to police reports on Friday. The incident occurred around 10 pm on Thursday when the lawyer went up to the terrace of his home, secured the staircase door, and doused himself with petrol before setting himself ablaze. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Sahu. As per his family members, he was receiving psychiatric treatment, informed Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena. However, the exact reason for his actions remains unclear, pending a postmortem examination for further insights, Meena said. Importantly, no suicide note was discovered at the location.
