Bengaluru, Sep 2 (PTI) Two labourers lost their lives at a construction site in Yelahanka when the soil excavated for the foundation caved in, as reported by the police on Tuesday.

According to officials, the unfortunate incident involved J Shiva, aged 30, and Mandhusudan Reddy, aged 55, who were engaged in work at a significant construction project on Monday night.

The heavy rainfall on Monday night led to the soil becoming unstable, resulting in its collapse on the workers, stated the police.

Tragically, Shiva succumbed to his injuries on Monday night, while Madhusudan passed away in the hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, according to police sources.

The Yelahanka police have filed a case regarding this incident.
