The Twitter account of BBC Punjabi has been withheld in India. According to the message displayed on the social media platform, the action has been taken in response to a legal request. However, the reason behind 'legal request' is not known.
The action against BBC Punjabi comes days after Twitter accounts of several pro-Khalistan accounts of journalists and politicians abroad were blocked in India amid crackdown on Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh and increasing attacks on India embassies and consulates.
